Think about it, the fact that Christianity exists, is a very strong argument that Christ did resurrect. So I took this idea to the chairlift to see if it this line of logic owned the high ground or not. Watch and see that it does, Jeremy, resorts to the postmodern response “But you see I look at it” This reduces the conversation to subjective truth not objective, He couldn’t logically answer how we have Christianity today so he had to lean on his own truth not ultimate truth.
The Conscience is supernaturally present in each and every human being…. The act of love that Christ did on the cross will bring the conscience peace that surpasses understanding. Happy Easter.
Something new at Tahoe Community Church, Pastor Paul Tracy and myself, Bob Daly, will be co-expository preaching through the book of Galatians. This new choice gives the community an opportunity to seek God from the root of His Word. Our hearts’ desire is to do our best to preach what God is saying, no sugar coating, no spin and no agenda. We’re not saying topical preaching is all bad, but if you only feed on topical messages, you’ll miss out on how God ordered His Word. Learning God’s Word from His order gives us His emphasis. One of the first things you may notice from this style of preaching is that the Bible’s emphasis is much more about God’s will being fulfilled here on earth, than man’s will.
The nick name for this worship is “The Skier’s Service.” I love and hate this nick name, because it looks like if you come to this service you love powder more than God; you want to get God out of the way, so you can rip powder. I hope that isn’t your attitude.
What I love about the nick name is, that if that is your attitude, that by coming to the service God will have the opportunity to change your heart through us by preaching His Word into your life. God needs to be Lord of your life….that means he is also the Lord of your skiing, and if skiing has become more important than following Jesus, test yourself:
2 Corinthians 13:5-8
5 Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you fail to meet the test! 6 I hope you will find out that we have not failed the test. 7 But we pray to God that you may not do wrong—not that we may appear to have met the test, but that you may do what is right, though we may seem to have failed. 8 For we cannot do anything against the truth, but only for the truth.
So whatever your motive to worship early is, please join us at the Skiers’ Worship 9:00 am at Tahoe Community Church, then go proclaim the gospel to those you ride the chair lift with in between ripping up the powder for the glory of God. So to be honest the Skiers’ Worship Service has nothing to do with skiing other than the fact that you’ll get to the hill faster.
