9 “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 10 If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. 11 I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. 12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command. 15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. 16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. 17 This is my command: Love each other.
I reposted this after it took me so long to find it the second time I wanted to watch it. I recognize the voice of Missionary John R. Cross from his “Road to Emmaus” Bible study. This is more common then you think, knowing right and wrong makes us guilty, our heavy conscience longs to be forgiven so we create religions to appease an angry god. When we hear what God did for us, it makes sense, it fits, so some people groups have an understanding clearly shows the correct value for the gift.
Freedom of Speech, is hard to handle if your world view is full of lies…the truth is, if your faith is built on lies it takes all your energy to keep the faith. Thats why all other religions are full of works to keep you busy, unsure of your standing with God. The effort put into works will give you a self righteousness that leads many into thinking they can do no wrong….RAPE, Homosexual Rape…in the name of Islam… Wow Pray for ambassador Chris Stevens family and the other families who lost loved ones…lastly pray for our missionaries to be used of God to reach the Muslims with the Gospel, it is mankind’s only hope.
We need not be fearful or hateful towards Muslims, we must pray, get to know them, Love them, and tell them the truth. The fact of the matter is a friendly postmodern american who rejects Christ for his own set of beliefs is just as deceived as a muslim. Both will end up in Hell if they don’t repent and trust Christ’s act of love he did on the cross. Get Busy church, serve your King.
Team Jesus upbraids Delhi, India with the Gospel of Christ. 2,500 Gospel tracts are distributed over a 2-day period.
This seems like the book of Acts come alive…The stories, the divine appointments, the faith, the courage, and the word going out. These men should be the modern-day heroes our kids look up too, not the over paid athletes, the immoral movie star, the egotistical rock star. Sanctify the church by changing who we admire, then give glory to God for the faith exhibited.
What is Joy? Its seems to come and go….Often shortly after its gone you notice it…we can”t have it when we want, it comes to us by God and is a gift. enjoy Joy!
My Daughter Danielle let me know that Shawn Holes of “Luke Ten Two Ministries” was coming to UNR, I spent a few hours with Shawn and his team witnessing. I mostly filmed one of his co-workers Jesse Boyd form “Full Proof Gospel ministries” I’ll soon post the vid of the open air preaching they proclaimed at UNR.
Shawn Holes has been a Christian for eight years, his conversion seems a bit like Saul of Tarsus, the Holy Spirit got Shawn up and running very quickly, his ministry takes him all over the world proclaiming the Gospel. He’s Obedience to the word of God convinced him to be completely sold out for the cause of Christ. So he sold his business, home, and other luxuries to pursue the spreading of God’s word full time. It’s so amazing to see this kind of faith in practice. Keep Shawn and his family in your prayers, he’s the real thing.
Operation Christmas Child
It’s never too early to start thinking about our shoe box ministry through Samaritan’s Purse, especially now when school supplies are all on sale. Our church has been offered the opportunity to expand our part in this outreach by being an official drop off location for the Tahoe area. What this means for us is that for the week of Nov 15-22 we will need volunteers for a couple hours each day to be at the church to receive donated boxes. The boxes need to be transported to Sparks Mon, Nov. 22. If you have a truck and are willing to drive, or spend a couple hours at the church one day that
week, please let me know as soon as possible.
Dear friend and family:
On Monday, March 15th I plan to make a second trip to Haiti with the purpose of doing my part to save a collapsing Healthcare industry in Haiti. I need your help to make this happen.
My first trip in February was life-changing. The loss of 250,000 lives, property and livelihoods would appear unprecedented. Healthcare snap-shot.
• 85% of Haiti’s healthcare facilities were damaged or completely destroyed
• The remaining hospitals are running at about 40% capacity of pre-quake
• Haiti already had the lowest hospital bed per capita than any other western hemisphere nation before the quake.
In February I was asked to participate in a specialized team of medical and non-medical professionals to re-open a closed Ambulatory / Primary Care facility in a suburb of Port-au-Prince. Logistically this was a monumental. Access to building materials or anything for that matter after the earthquake was difficult. Our team managed to procure a generator and rewire the building restoring power. We installed a pump and water tank and piping that brought running water to the building from a manual well, beds were disinfected, the pharmacy rebuilt and built a patient reception area. Patient flow, process and medical records were created and implemented. After one week of hard work we started seeing our first patients, at about 60 per day.
Upon the completion of my work, I went to visit other facilities for benchmarking processes in Haiti, pre-quake and post quake. This activity brought me in contact with several hospital owners and administrators getting a real sense of what their issues are. In the short-term it is stabilizing buildings that are still standing (making them safe), making payroll for Haitian staff (cash flow), developing new income streams for long term sustainability and policy development to transition from free healthcare to something more sustainable in light of the thousands of foreign medical professionals and donated meds. Right now, there are 700,000 Haitians living in tents all around the capital. The rains are already beginning to affect the health of those living in tent cities.
My desire and prayer is that work and ministry experiences God has given me over a couple of decades in developing countries along with self study of the Healthcare Industry since late September 2009 will be used on this next trip and give Him glory.
I will be going with DELTA ministries and your tax deductible donations will go directly in supporting my ability to stay as long as I can. I’m looking at several weeks.
